Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I consider Artificial Grass Co.?

Easy, we care about the details and don’t cut corners. When we decided to leave our former careers as professional athletes and get back into home improvement we saw an opportunity to upgrade and raise expectations for home owners looking to invest in artificial grass and pavers.

There are a lot of companies that are happy to do your project for as cheap as possible, we are not one of them.

If you are looking for the highest quality turf and install for your project, we are the guys to get it done and give you an experience you likely aren’t expecting. Prepare to be educated on all of the important considerations that make your project unique!

What is your bid process?

Typically our process is the following;

  1. Do a virtual bid range using Google Maps or a rough idea of the total area you’re looking to install. You may also get a reasonable range by clicking on our Virtual Estimate tool on this website. This will give you a general range for the proposed project.
  2. Assuming the installation range is within reason for your project we will schedule a visit to introduce you to our turf range and get formal measurements. We’ll provide a final estimate within 48 hours of our visit.
  3. Assuming you’re ready to schedule (after confirming area and turf style) we’ll submit an invoice for a 50% deposit to secure materials and an install window.

*All projects are unique and require attention be paid to drainage, grade, irrigation, landscaping, hardscaping, site access, etc.. We’ll review all of this during step 2 of our bid process to get you an accurate estimate before committing to your project.

What areas do you service?

For anything under 500 square feet we stay in Orlando area up to 40 miles of downtown.

For 750 square feet and up we can install from Tampa to Jacksonville with our main service area being Central Florida.

For 3,000+ square feet we will travel to anywhere in the MidWest and up the East Coast. ie. Texas to New York

How long does turf last?

 There are tons of different styles of artificial grass with manufacturers all over the world, however, we only work with turf made right here in the United States.

 The variables to consider are; quality of the installation, how much traffic, environmental conditions, and of course the specific style of grass you choose.

 Ultimately, you can expect your turf to last a minimum of 8 years and upwards of double that if you take care to maintain your turf over time.

What types of artificial grass installs can you handle?

We can manage both residential and commercial installations. We’re fully insured and OSHA 30 Certified.

We are more than comfortable with these types of installs;

  • Landscape
  • Putting Greens
  • Bocce Courts
  • Soccer Fields
  • Playgrounds
  • Pet Runs

I heard that turf can get pretty hot, is that true?

Don’t be fooled by companies trying to sell you heat resistant turf. Turf will get uncomfortable in direct sunlight during the warmer months of the year. The only solution for a consistently cool surface is shade, water, and proper infill (in that order).

Need shade? We’re partnered with Shade Solutions and can set you up with a custom commercial grade canvas sail.

Is it safe for kids and pets?

Absolutely!

Unlike natural grass that can contain allergens for humans and pets, artificial grass is completely free of organic materials.

What about when it rains?

No problem, our bidding and install process will address any problem areas that may require additional drainage solutions. Otherwise, our turf backing is sealed and protected from mildew and mold as well as permeable.

Additionally, we use between 4″ and 5″ of CII road base (crushed concrete) which will allow quick percolation of rainwater into the sub base.

ex. Typical contractors only use 2″ – 3″ of concrete fines or paver sand which will degrade and sink over time.

Who does the install?

We do! We have an in-house crew and are insured and carry workers comp.

At the moment either Kevin or Keith (business partners) will lead your installation from beginning to end. This ensures a level of quality control on our installs that are rarely matched locally.

Have the peace of mind knowing that we do NOT sub-contract out our labor.

Can I just buy the turf and install it myself?

We get it, we’re home improvement gurus ourselves, it can’t be rocket science. It definitely is NOT rocket science, however, installing artificial grass and pavers requires a lot of patience and time (both of which you’re likely short of).

If you are still convinced of your abilities, we will be more than happy to help make sure you have everything you need to do an amazing job!

Do you sell just turf to contractors?

Short answer is, Yes. You can expect a lead time of 3-5 business days and we can drop ship if needed.

Longer answer is, we don’t stock rolls yet, but are currently working on our first showroom and distribution center here in Clermont, FL.

Are there any other trades that you can help us with?

Of course, we are fully capable with the following;

  • Drainage
  • Irrigation
  • Hardscaping
    • Pavers
    • Porcelain Tiles
    • Concrete
  • Landscape Lighting
  • Shade Sails
  • Grading
  • Basic Landscaping
